I cannot believe that another year has come and gone so fast!!
The Australian Architecture Forum is now only a couple of weeks away. This is a unique event, with a mixture of breakout sessions (regular conference sessions) and roundtables. The round tables are designed to raise issues and get the feedback from all of the participants, not just the Architects who are hosting the session.
This year's Forum theme is SOA: The new maturity. With SOA no longer the 'next big thing', how is it actually being applied by Architects effectively to apply real value to business?
The keynote this year will be delivered by Ron Todd, who is a is a World Wide Solutions Architect within IBM’s Software Group. Ron's talk is titled 'Architecting SOA Applications for Business Agility'.
After missing last year's event because I was overseas, I'll be hosting one of the round tables this year. It will look at whether there is still a role for Component Based Development in the world of SOA. I personally think that CBD is more important than ever, but the round table format will let everyone share their views. I am looking forward to the discussion that this will generate.
